Artist, Speaker and Editor

ART. COURAGE. TRUTH.
I’m Eva Fernandes—writer, poet, playwright, and spoken word artist.
My work explores the big, beautiful, and sometimes messy stuff: identity, belonging, feminism, grief—and at the heart of it all, fierce love.
More than anything, I believe in the power of story to heal, connect, and transform—not just for the writer, but for the reader, the listener, the whole room.
That’s why I do what I do.
Conversations
That Matter
Beyond the page, you’ll find me hosting conversations, leading workshops, and speaking at festivals and community events.
As a speaker, emcee, and workshop facilitator—I gather people in spaces where truth can land and where conversations go deep.

Before all this, I was a journalist in the Middle East—writing for The New York Times T Magazine, Yahoo, Gulf News, and others. Those years taught me to listen carefully, ask better questions, and write with both precision and soul.
This is work I do with love.
And I’m so glad you’re here.
